"ABSOLUTE SUBMISSION" Chapter 5

The warm, heavy air of Rio de Janeiro pressed against the glass balcony doors of the clifftop mansion like a living, breathing weight.

Down below, the exclusive gala hummed with the superficial laughter of international socialites, corrupt power brokers, and desperate executives drinking champagne they could no longer afford.

Kian stood near the edge of the dimly lit terrace, his posture relaxed and completely unguarded as he gazed out over the dark expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.

He no longer felt the paranoid itch of a hunted animal, because he knew that Alistair Vance’s electronic eyes and ears permeated every inch of the estate.

Absolute trust had settled into his bones, a quiet and terrifying certainty that allowed him to surrender his back to the chaos without a single hesitation.

Inside the lavishly decorated private parlor adjacent to the ballroom, Matheus adjusted his silk bow tie with damp, shaking fingers.

The former manager looked a shadow of his former self, his eyes hollowed out by mounting gambling debts and the sudden, inexplicable evaporation of his corporate backers.

Beside him stood Herrera, an aging, decaying investor whose tailored white suit did little to hide the smell of desperation clinging to his skin like cheap cologne.

"Is the sedative ready?" Herrera muttered anxiously, his voice cracking as he glanced toward the double doors leading out to the terrace.

"I slipped it into his glass myself while he was looking at the ocean," Matheus whispered back, a venomous, triumphant smile twisting his mouth.

"Once he passes out, we load him onto the private yacht and hand him over to Herrera's syndicate contacts in exchange for immediate liquidity."

"The boy thinks he can ruin us with those encrypted flash drives," Herrera wheezed, his greedy fingers twitching at his sides.

"We will teach him what happens to artists who forget their place beneath our boots."

Neither of the conspirators realized that every whispered word was being captured by high-gain directional microphones wired directly into Alistair's secure private feed.

Miles away in the sterile command center of the Rio penthouse, Alistair watched the multi-angle thermal feeds of the parlor with chilling, emotionless detachment.

His fingers tapped a slow, rhythmic tattoo against the mahogany armrest of his chair, each keystroke executing a silent, catastrophic financial execution.

"They are moving toward the terrace," his lead cybersecurity analyst reported quietly from across the darkened room.

"Trigger the sequence," Alistair commanded, his voice a low, glacial rumble that carried the force of an oncoming avalanche.

With a single synchronized keystroke, Alistair’s private algorithmic trading bots flooded international currency exchanges with Herrera's toxic corporate stock.

Simultaneously, encrypted freeze orders were transmitted to every major banking institution holding Herrera's leveraged real estate holdings in South America.

Back at the clifftop gala, Matheus stepped out onto the breezy terrace holding a crystal flute filled with amber liquid and a poisoned smile.

"Kian," Matheus called out smoothly, playing the part of the concerned, nostalgic friend with practiced ease.

"I thought I would find you brooding out here by the water. Let us toast to old times and bury the hatchet."

Kian turned slowly to face his former manager, his sapphire eyes entirely devoid of anger, reflecting only a profound, chilling pity.

"You always were a terrible actor, Matheus," Kian said, his voice level and entirely unbothered as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Drink it," Matheus hissed, dropping the friendly facade as panic flared behind his eyes at Kian’s calm demeanor.

"You have no choice anymore. Your career is finished, and nobody here is going to help you."

Before Kian could reply, the heavy mahogany doors of the parlor burst open with a resounding crash that rattled the crystal chandeliers.

A dozen heavy-set private security operatives, wearing unmarked tactical gear stamped with the Vantage Capital crest, swarmed into the room with terrifying speed.

Herrera stumbled backward, his face draining of all color as he stared at the men who moved with the merciless precision of a firing squad.

"What is the meaning of this?" Herrera shrieked, dropping his champagne glass as it shattered into a thousand glittering pieces across the marble floor.

"You are trespassing," one of the tactical officers barked, his voice echoing through the terrified ballroom like thunder.

"Herrera Holdings has just been delisted from the global exchange, and all company assets are seized under federal fraud statutes."

Herrera clutched his chest, gasping for air as his phone buzzed incessantly in his pocket with emergency notifications of total financial ruin.

Matheus dropped his glass as well, the amber liquid splashing against his designer shoes while his mind struggled to comprehend the impossible reality.

"No," Matheus muttered, backing away until his spine slammed hard against the stone balustrade of the terrace.

"That is impossible. We had an agreement with the board. We had capital."

"Your capital belonged to Vantage Capital before you even finished spelling your own name," Alistair’s voice echoed coldly through the hidden speakers installed around the terrace.

The two disgraced conspirators turned in horror, looking up at the high-definition perimeter cameras as if the billionaire were standing right beside them in the flesh.

"Drag them out," the tactical commander ordered, waving his hand toward his subordinates with absolute, dismissive authority.

Two massive guards grabbed Herrera by his expensive lapels, hauling the wheezing, broken investor off his feet as he sobbed for mercy.

Another guard clamped a heavy hand over Matheus’s shoulder, yanking him away from the terrace railing with enough force to dislocate a joint.

As they were hoisted into the air and dragged kicking and screaming toward the grand exit, Matheus caught sight of the security lens blinking red in the corner.

A sudden, psychotic rage broke through his terror, twisting his features into an ugly mask of pure, unadulterated hatred.

"You think you won, Alistair!" Matheus shrieked at the camera, his voice cracking into a manic, high-pitched scream that silenced the entire ballroom below.

"You think your money can wash away the blood! You are just like your miserable mother, Helena! You are cursed just like she was on the night she—"

The rest of Matheus’s words were violently cut off as a tactical operative slammed a heavy leather glove across his mouth, dragging him out into the dark corridors.

The heavy oak doors slammed shut behind them, plunging the terrace back into a profound, suffocating silence broken only by the steady rush of the ocean waves.

Kian stood motionless near the edge of the balcony, his chest tightening as he processed the venomous name dropped by the ruined manager.

Helena. The name of Alistair’s tragic mother hovered in the salt-heavy air, opening a secret, bleeding wound that the billionaire had kept locked away for decades.

Up in the glass fortress of the Rio penthouse miles away, Alistair sat entirely alone in front of the wall of glowing monitors.

The audio feed of Matheus’s final scream hung in the empty room like a jagged shard of glass, but the billionaire's face remained an unreadable mask of ice.

He lifted a crystal goblet filled with deep red wine to his lips, taking a slow, deliberate sip as he watched the digital feeds of his enemies being tossed unceremoniously onto the pavement outside.

The security guards tossed the whimpering men into the back of an unmarked van, locking the heavy steel doors with a definitive, echoing thud.

Alistair set his wine glass down onto the polished mahogany desk with a sharp, echoing clink that shattered the lingering stillness.

He leaned forward, pressing the master intercom button that connected his private suite directly to the local operatives patrolling the coastline.

His voice came out in a low, glacial whisper that promised a level of destruction from which there would be no resurrection.

"Wipe their company off the map of Rio," Alistair commanded softly, his amber eyes burning with a dark, terrifying fire.
