"The Divorce Strike: I Withdrew 76 Million to Topple Them" Chapter 4
The onlookers began to whisper.
Mina hurriedly said: "I didn't know the source of that money."
I nodded.
"It doesn't matter if you didn't know. Now that you do, you can pay it back."
Tears fell from her eyes immediately.
"Ms. Clara, do you really have to humiliate me like this?"
I said: "Mina, you didn't feel humiliated when you were taking the money, but you feel it now that you have to pay it back?"
Someone nearby laughed out loud.
Mina’s fans shouted from the periphery: "Don't bully Mina!"
I turned to look at that person.
"Want to pay it back for her?"
The person immediately fell silent.
Julian stood in front of Mina.
"That’s enough. I will pay her debts."
I looked at him.
"How much is left in the accounts under your name?"
Julian’s face looked awful.
His father walked out from inside.
"Clara, today is an important occasion for Fu Medical."
I said: "Chairman Fu, you know it’s important, too."
I handed another file to Patrick.
Patrick opened it in front of everyone.
"As a major former investor in Fu Medical, Evergreen Capital has formally filed for recovery regarding the marital asset transfers made by Mr. Julian Fu. The relevant documents have been submitted to the Fu Medical Board of Directors."
The expression on the Chairman’s face almost crumbled.
Several business partners exchanged business cards on the spot and turned to enter the conference room next door.
Mina still wanted to cry.
I took a step closer.
"Don't cry."
She looked up at me.
I said: "Tears aren't worth 1.32 million."
There was a low chuckle in the surroundings.
Julian was suppressing his anger.
"Clara Shen, are you satisfied today?"
"Not satisfied."
He gritted his teeth.
"What else do you want?"
I looked at the Fu Medical new product poster on the stage.
"Aren't you going to present the new products? Continue."
His father’s face was dark.
The host took the stage with a sense of dread.
But for the rest of the briefing, no one listened to the product details.
Everyone was watching the Fu family.
Watching Mina.
Watching Julian.
Watching how his father struggled to maintain a sense of decorum amidst the investor recovery claims and the PR disaster.
7
After the briefing ended, Mina stopped me.
Her eyes were full of resentment.
"Clara Shen, do you think you can win just like this?"
I said: "I’m not competing with you."
"Stop acting so high and mighty. Aren't you just relying on your family's money?"
I looked at her.
"Yes."
She was stunned.
I continued: "I have it, and you don't."
She was so angry she couldn't speak.
Julian walked over.
"Mina, don't talk to her anymore."
Mina grabbed his hand.
"Julian, I don't mind suffering a little, but you shouldn't let her keep manipulating you."
Julian looked at me.
"Clara Shen, my father will hold a board meeting in two days. If you still want to stir up trouble, don't blame me for being heartless."

I asked: "What heart do you have to show?"
His face sank.
"Don't forget, you spent Fu family money for the past three years too."
I smiled.
"Then go ahead and audit it."
He stared at me.
I handed my bag to Patrick.
"As a reminder, all daily expenses during my three years in the Fu family came from my own accounts. I also have a list of all the gifts your mother received from me during holidays."
His mother, who had just stepped out of the door, stopped in her tracks upon hearing this.
I looked at her.
"Mrs. Fu, do you still like the jade bracelet you received last year?"
Her face turned red and then white.
The media hadn't fully left yet.
Someone immediately leaned in closer.
His mother gritted her teeth.
"Clara Shen, don't be so ugly about this."
I said: "It doesn't matter if I look ugly. It’s the gifts that need to look good."
His sister stamped her feet in anger.
"Brother, are you just going to watch her bully Mom like this?"
Julian said in a low voice: "Go back."
I walked past them.
Mina suddenly said: "Ms. Clara, I will pay you back the money."
I stopped.
She held her head high.
"But I also hope you remember that not all feelings can be measured by money."
I turned back.
"Then pay back what can be measured first."
Her face stiffened.
I added: "As for what can't be measured, I consider it trash."
That evening, Mina did not livestream.
However, news of the Fu Medical briefing spread throughout the industry.
Lena called me.
"Ms. Clara, several of Fu Medical’s partners are hesitating. One agency that was supposed to sign a contract changed its mind at the last minute, saying they want to wait for the results of the board meeting."
I asked: "How is the Chairman planning to respond?"
"He wants to shift all the responsibility onto Julian."
"Internal infighting between father and son?"
"It’s not quite that far yet, but he has already ordered finance to audit all projects under Julian’s name."
I smiled.
"And what about Mina?"
"She is contacting brands to delete their collaboration content. I guess she’s afraid of being implicated in the recovery claim."
I was about to speak when the doorbell rang.
I glanced at the screen.
Julian was standing outside.
I didn't open the door.
Through the intercom, he lowered his voice.
"Clara Shen, I know you’re there."
I asked: "Something up?"
"Let's talk."
"No need."
He stared at the camera.
"Do you have to make me say it here?"
I said: "You can try."
He was silent for a few seconds.
"When you married me back then, did you already know about the relationship between Evergreen Capital and your family?"
I said: "Yes."
"Then why didn't you say anything?"
"Did you ever ask?"
His expression was ugly.

"Were you intentionally waiting to see our family make a fool of itself?"
I smiled.
"Julian, before we got married, my mother asked your father if he wanted to meet her team formally. It was your father who said that in-laws shouldn't need to put on such shows."
He froze.
I continued: "In the first year of our marriage, I wanted to help your company secure a project, and you were the one who said, 'Women shouldn't meddle in company affairs.'"
His lips moved.
"I didn't know then..."
"You didn't know I was useful, so I wasn't qualified to meddle. Now that you know I’m useful, you blame me for not telling you."
I watched him on the screen.
"Julian, your calculations have always been quite loud."
He clenched his fists.
"Clara Shen, we were husband and wife after all."
"The divorce certificate is in your pocket."
He was blocked from saying anything else.
After a while, his voice softened.
"Fu Medical cannot go under. It is my father's life’s work."
"Telling me is useless."
"You go tell your mother; as long as Evergreen returns, I can promise you one condition."
I asked: "Can I choose remarriage?"
He suddenly looked up.
I smiled.
"Look, you don't want to."
He immediately said: "No, I just..."
"You just thought that I would still take marriage as a bargaining chip like I did before."
I interrupted him.
"Julian, I don't want you anymore."
For the first time, a look of panic appeared on his face.
I said: "Go back."
"Clara Shen."
He pressed close to the intercom.
"Did you never love me?"
I watched him.
"I did."
His eyes flickered.
I added: "That’s why I find you even more disgusting."
8
I hung up the intercom.
He stood outside the door for a long time before leaving.
I thought the night would end there.
But half an hour later, Lena sent me a screenshot.
The sister had posted another update.
"Some women really know how to put on an act; clearly not clean in their own marriage, yet still have the nerve to play the victim".
The image attached was a blurry photo.
It showed me standing at a hospital entrance with a man.
The man’s side profile was elegant, and he was opening the car door for me.
The photo was shot in a very suggestive way.
The comment section exploded.
"So the ex-wife has someone too?"
"No wonder she's so ruthless after the divorce".
"Was the Fu family bitten back?"
Lena sent another message shortly after.
"Ms. Clara, this photo was taken two years ago".
Of course I knew that.
The man in the photo was Gu Shi'an.
He was my college classmate.
He was also the head of the charitable medical foundation that my mother single-handedly supported.
That day, I had gone to the hospital to get a specialist appointment for Julian’s mother.
Back then, the mother had even praised me for having connections.
Now, her daughter was using this photo to spread rumors about me.
I stared at the screenshot for a few seconds.
