"Forbidden Pulse: Don't, Uncle!" Chapter 49
Chapter 49: I Am Here
Willow Avery sat beside Julian Kingston, playing with her phone.
Grandpa Sterling happened to send a message over, inquiring why they hadn't returned yet.
He also smoothly gave Julian a scolding along the way.
[This brat told me today he was going to pick you up, but where on earth did he take you? Just wait until he gets back and see how I teach him a lesson!]
Just as Willow was about to reply, the car suddenly veered violently to one side.
"Driver? What's wrong?"
The taxi driver cursed: "Are they blind? Just because it's a BMW means they can overtake whenever they want? These days..."
"Huh?"
Willow instinctively looked out of the car window.
Before she could see clearly, the sound of an impact echoed in her ears.
The car door where she was sitting instantly dented in a large chunk.
"Damn, is this person doing it on purpose?" The driver grumbled as he cursed. "Quick, you quickly sit over toward your uncle's side."
Hearing this, Willow moved toward Julian without a moment's delay.
Before she could sit securely, another violent impact struck.
The inertia caused her body to instinctively lean backward. Just as the back of her head was about to crash against the ruined car door, the man's arm clamped around her waist.
Julian scooped her into his embrace, his bloodshot eyes looking at her calmly: "Don't be afraid."
With that, he pressed her into his chest.
Willow actually wasn't all that afraid; she was just a bit panicked.
These minor car accidents generally wouldn't cause severe injuries to people.
But his words still comforted her.
Her heart rate, which had originally been beating exceptionally fast, smoothed down.
And a few seconds later, it beat rapidly once more due to his body temperature.
Julian looked toward the driver: "They did it on purpose. Unlock the car doors, jump out."
"Oh, right."
The driver hurriedly unlocked the car.
Julian raised his hand and was just about to open the door.
A large cargo truck came charging toward them with a roar.
Julian's pupils contracted sharply.
Instinctively, he held Willow even tighter.
"I'm here, it's fine."
Boom!
Willow's ears were ringing from the shock.
Her body crashed against the seat, a bit painful.
Hiding in the man's embrace, she heard his painful, muffled groan.
Something sticky slid across the corner of her eye.
She instinctively touched it.
Warm.
Red.
Blood.
"Uncle Julian?"
Willow's voice trembled: "How, how are you doing?"
There was no response.
She didn't dare to move too much.
Deeply fearing her posture would be improper and cause secondary injury to him.
She could only call out to the driver: "Driver, driver are you awake?"
It was still a blanket of silence.
Before long, clamoring voices sounded outside.
"Quickly call an ambulance."
"A pile-up accident, the people inside the taxi couldn't be dead, right?"
"Being hit by a large vehicle, the chance of surviving is very small."
"The car doors on both sides have been crushed flat; they can't be opened."
"How about waiting until the police come over."
Listening to this, Willow's eyes instantly turned red.
"We are alive! Help! You guys please help..."
She called out with all her strength: "Save my uncle, save the driver, I beg of you..."
They couldn't delay time.
Delaying time would cost lives.
"Someone inside is still conscious?"
"Is there an iron bar? See if we can pry the car door open."
Luna Hayes walked down from the damaged BMW: "Are they alright?"
Although everyone had witnessed her accidentally crashing into the taxi, which caused the taxi to change lanes and consequently get hit by the large vehicle.
But now was not the time to fret over these things.
Saving people was the most important thing.
"The other people in the car are estimated to be unconscious; there is a woman awake."
"A woman?"
Luna frowned.
Her life was this big?
Thinking it over, she walked toward the position of the taxi.
As expected, she heard a woman's cries for help.
But this voice...
"Are you Willow Avery?"
"Luna?"
Willow hadn't expected Luna to still be here. As if grasping a lifesaving straw, she said hurriedly: "Luna, quickly call an ambulance, Uncle Julian is unconscious."
Luna didn't acknowledge it, asking: "Why are you here?"
Willow couldn't fathom why she was asking these completely irrelevant questions, emphasizing: "Uncle Julian is truly injured very severely..."
Luna didn't reply to her, still continuing to ask:
"Did you see that woman who was together with him?"
"What woman?" Willow was truly frantic. "Luna, contact Grandpa Sterling, have Grandpa Sterling arrange a good doctor to save Uncle Julian and the driver."
Luna completely settled her heart this time.
As long as that person hadn't continued to develop a relationship with Julian, it was fine.
She still had a chance.
"Alright, I'll contact Old Mr. Kingston."
Luna hadn't managed to get Grandpa Sterling's contact details previously; she had only noted the one for the estate.
She called over, explaining the situation.
Ten minutes later, the ambulances and rescue vehicles all arrived here.
Methodically rescuing the people out.
Looking at Julian lying on the stretcher, Willow's tears fell incessantly like a string of broken pearls.
There was blood on his head, and a large patch of his back was also injured.
His face was extremely pale due to excessive blood loss.
If it hadn't been to save her, her uncle wouldn't have been injured this severely at all.
Luna supported Willow, comforting her: "Mr. Kingston will be fine."
She had originally only wanted to cause a car accident to see the woman's appearance clearly.
She hadn't anticipated that this area was the suburbs, and there would be large cargo trucks.
If she had known earlier that Willow was inside the car, she wouldn't have gone through this trouble.

Willow nodded. Remembering the matter of her getting injured at the stables, she asked: "Luna, weren't you hospitalized? Is your body well?"
"Yes," Luna sighed. "I originally even booked an appointment for your uncle, planning to have him check on me again, but accidentally forgot. His colleague brought me here to find him, yet I hadn't expected to run into him being together with a woman."
She asked: "Willow, do you know about the matter of your uncle dating a girlfriend?"
"Uncle Julian doesn't have a girlfriend." Willow's line of sight remained fixed on Julian the entire time.
Luna still wanted to probe a bit more, but a traffic police officer walked over.
"This lady, was it your car that first crashed into the taxi?"
"Yes," Luna released Willow, wiping her tears. "I haven't had my driver's license for long, and I'm not very proficient at driving; several times I stepped on the gas thinking it was the brake."
Only now did Willow find out.
The car that crashed into them was driven by Luna.
But... didn't her uncle say that person did it on purpose?
Could Luna have intentionally...
"Which one is the family member?"
Hearing the doctor's voice, Willow quickly stepped forward: "I am."
When she boarded the ambulance, Luna was still wiping away tears toward the traffic police officer.
Willow felt at this moment that she was exceptionally terrifying.
But now was not the time to think about these things.
Uncle Julian's safety was the most important thing.
She guarded by his side, watching the medical staff perform simple emergency treatment on him.
But the man showed no sign of regaining consciousness.
His fingers resting by his side didn't move even a fraction of an inch.
"Uncle Julian..."
Willow thought of the moments she was held in the man's embrace.
She couldn't stop herself from raising her hand, lightly gripping his.
"Please, you must be fine..."
