"Forbidden Pulse: Don't, Uncle!" Chapter 36
Chapter 36: Fever
Grandpa Sterling was telling her, "I’ve arranged everything. Willa, just cooperate with me in a bit."
"Okay, Grandpa Sterling."
Willow nodded, but her thoughts were elsewhere.
After a moment, she sent a message to ask about her grandfather's condition.
Willow's father replied with three words: Emergency room.
Looking at it, Willow’s heart instantly clenched tightly.
Just as she wanted to ask further, the car happened to pull to a stop.
She could only temporarily put away her phone and follow Grandpa Sterling into the hotel.
This was a high-end establishment that integrated both dining and accommodation.
Grandpa Sterling reached the private room he had booked earlier. Seeing that it was time to clock off work, he called Julian.
"Julian, it’s a family dinner tonight. I'm sending you the address, come over in a bit."
Julian: "..."
Family?
There were only two people with the surname Kingston in the entire estate.
"Is Willow there too?"
"Nonsense!" Sterling glanced at Willow, who was sitting silently to the side, and asked, "Willa, do you not like it here?"
"No," Willow tried her best to maintain an easygoing expression. "Grandpa Sterling, is Uncle Julian coming?"
Without waiting for Sterling to speak, Julian’s voice already sounded through the line: "I'll be right there."
"This boy, it's the first time he's ever been so enthusiastic."
Sterling muttered a sentence like this and handed the menu to Willow to order.
Willow selected a few dishes that Grandpa Sterling and Julian usually liked, and afterward, she kept fiddling with her phone under the table.
Inquiring about her grandfather's condition.
Ten minutes later, Willow's father finally replied to the message.
[The doctor says the situation is very dangerous, tell us to prepare ourselves mentally.]
[Don't worry too much either, your grandfather is a good man and heaven will protect him.]
[Also, this is our own family matter, so don't trouble the Kingston family.]
With a clack, the phone slipped and fell onto the floor.
Willow stood up in a panic, looking at Grandpa Sterling with reddened eyes: "Grandpa Sterling, I suddenly feel a bit unwell. Can I go back first?"
Her father had instructed her, so she had no way to say it directly.
"Willa, what's wrong? How about waiting for Julian to come and check on you?" Sterling asked with concern.
"I’m just a bit tired," Willow knew Sterling had arrangements today, so she took the initiative to say, "You stay here and wait for Uncle Julian. I'll be fine, I just need to rest a bit."
Sterling pondered for a moment and nodded: "Alright."
He had already arranged everything for today; if Julian noticed it next time, it would be difficult to pull off.
"Willa," he cautioned, "if anything happens, tell Grandpa Sterling. I will absolutely sort it out for you."
Seeing Willow nod, he finally pulled out his phone: "I'll have the driver take you back."
...
All along the way back to the estate, Willow kept making phone calls.
But no one answered.
Her heart sank further and further.
Her grandfather had cerebrovascular disease, which had been controlled by medication for a long time.
The doctor had once said to be extremely careful, because the onset was sudden, and it was highly possible he wouldn't survive long enough to be sent to the hospital.
They soon arrived at the estate.
The butler was specifically waiting at the door.
"Miss Avery, what would you like to have for dinner? The Master specifically instructed me to look after your meals."
"I’m not hungry," Willow wanted to force a smile, but she truly couldn't manage it. "Thank you, Uncle Liu. You can all go and rest."
After saying this, she walked into the house with floating footsteps.
The butler followed behind her. Just as he was planning to persuade her with a few words, Willow suddenly swayed and fell toward the floor.
"Miss Avery!"
He caught her in a fright, quickly catching the girl: "Are you alright?"
Willow shook her head weakly: "Just dizzy, I’ll be fine after a short rest."
"How can this be sorted out by just resting?" The butler felt her body temperature was abnormal. "Miss Avery, you seem to have a fever. I’ll call the Master."
