"Forbidden Pulse: Don't, Uncle!" Chapter 21
Chapter 21: Matching Outfits
Only now did Willow notice that her clothes were in the same color scheme as Julian’s.
Cream-white.
Both outfits even featured similar pocket designs.
It looked very much like a couple's look.
Willow hadn't expected such a coincidence; her heart was thumping wildly against her ribs.
If Grandpa Sterling discovered anything, she would truly die of guilt.
He was so good to her, looking after her in Riverford, yet she had destroyed his youngest son's purity.
Amidst her frayed nerves, Grandpa Sterling finally remembered what he wanted to say.
"It’s called a family outfit. I understand."
Julian: "..."
He brushed past the old man with his long legs. "I'll examine your eyes later. You aren't that old yet; how are you going blind so fast?"
Grandpa Sterling barked back in anger, "You brat, provoking me again!"
Turning back to Willow, his voice immediately softened into a gentle tone. "Willa, ignore him. I had the kitchen prepare some dishes from back home in Riverford. Go have a taste."
"Okay."
Willow let out a silent breath of relief and obediently followed Grandpa Sterling into the dining room.
There were over twenty dishes on the table, half of which were prepared in the style of her hometown.
Willow was overwhelmed with emotion. "Thank you, Grandpa Sterling."
"Treat this like your own home. Eat," Grandpa Sterling said, pushing the dishes toward Willow.
"I will."
Just as Willow nodded, a shrimp landed in her bowl.
Julian sat opposite her, wearing disposable gloves, leisurely peeling the shell off a shrimp.
The man had slender fingers; every movement he made was refined and pleasing to the eye.
He lifted his eyelids, shooting a faint glance at her. "Eat more. Your legs are too thin."
Willow: Cough, cough, cough...
He said it as if he had actually felt them.
Well, he actually... had.
"You eat, Uncle Julian," she forced a smile. "I can help myself."
"Aha!"
Grandpa Sterling, sitting at the head of the table, suddenly slammed his hand down. "Julian, you’re actually doing it!"
He had finally changed his temperament and was willing to be close to a girl.
Could it be that Willa’s good nature had cured his eccentricities?
"Butler!" He waved a hand grandly. "Bring the photos over!"
Willow’s heart felt like it was on a roller coaster. It wasn't until the butler brought over a stack of photos of young women that she finally felt at ease.
So, he was picking a marriage partner for Julian.
As long as he wasn't suspecting her, everything was fine.
"Willa," Grandpa Sterling felt the opportunity was too good to pass up—who knew when this boy might change his mind again? He decided to seize the time right there at the table. "Look at these. Which one do you think is good?"
Willow didn't recognize the people, but she could tell they were all high-society ladies with great poise.
They seemed like a good match for Julian.
"Grandpa Sterling, they all look quite nice."
"I think so too," Grandpa Sterling turned to Julian. "Julian, which one catches your eye? I'll arrange for you to meet."
Julian leaned against the back of his chair, eyes slightly raised as he watched the girl actively trying to pick a blind date for him.
He uttered a faint sentence: "I don't like any of them."
Grandpa Sterling had heard this so many times his ears were calloused. He followed up naturally, "Then what type do you like?"
He had asked this before, but Julian had never answered.
He expected this time to be the same.
Regardless, whenever the topic of marriage came up, it was all nonsense anyway.
"I like," Julian’s gaze remained fixed on Willow as he spoke slowly, "long legs, a slender waist, pure, beautiful, and cute. She also needs to have a special talent. Her personality shouldn't be too dull, but not too wild either."
Grandpa Sterling almost thought he had misheard.
Once he processed it, he was beaming with joy. "Good lad, you’ve finally seen the light! Let me pick some out for you..."
Willow sat to the side, her hands nervously clutching her clothes.
Why did she feel like the ideal type Julian described sounded a lot like her?
Except for the last part.
She felt she was quite dull.
"This one, this one," Grandpa Sterling flipped through the stack and actually found one that fit the requirements. "Willa, what do you think of this one?"
Willow looked over instinctively and was momentarily stunned.
It was actually... Luna Hayes.
