In the season 7 episode “Mad Dogs and Servicemen,” our beloved Radar O’Reilly mentions two songs in a letter home: “Diddy Wah Diddy” and “The Wayward Wind.” Heartfelt? Yes. Historically accurate? Not even close.

Both songs came out in the mid-1950s—years after the Korean War setting of the show.
